Mackenzie Podewell Commits to Maine
Mission congratulates senior forward Mackenzie Podewell on her commitment to the University of Maine.
Mackenzie is playing in her second season with the Mission u19’s. She is a tenacious forward who is hard on the puck, providing constant pressure on the opposition. Mackenzie has made multiple USA Hockey Development Camps and is a member of the National Honor Society in the classroom. Podewell said, “Although I have only been at the Chicago Mission for two years, I have made an endless amount of memories. Playing at the Mission has taught me countless lifelong skills, always pushing me to be the best version of myself. Whether it is the dedication and hard work that goes into playing, or the relationships that I have built, the Chicago Mission has helped shape me into the person I am today. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime and am forever grateful to have gotten to wear the Mission green”. When asked about the Black Bears, Mackenzie said, “I chose the University of Maine due to the incredible engineering program, team culture, coaches, campus, and historic rink”. Mackenzie plans on studying biomedical engineering at Maine.
Congrats to the Podewell family!!
