Chicago Mission’s 2000 group ready to form program’s next wave of NHL draft picks.

Chicago Mission​​ coach Anders Sorensen pulls out an old black notebook and begins reading notes from the past.

He’s looking over his lines, power-play units and more scribbles about the Mission’s 16U team from the 2015-16 season. He stacked the first power play unit with Spencer Stastney, Bode Wilde, Phillipe Lapointe, Jake Pivonka and Jack Randl. He had Jack Drury and others on the second unit.

Sorensen can’t help but smile and reminisce. It was a good team with a lot of talented players. And on Friday and Saturday, a number of them are expected to be selected in the NHL draft.     MORE…
