Ella Pukala Commits to Minnesota Duluth
The Chicago Mission congratulates senior forward Ella Pukala on her commitment to the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Ella began playing hockey at 5 years of age and has played for 6 seasons with the Mission. She has many on and off ice accomplishments.
– A-honor role student every high school semester.
– Multiple USA Hockey Development Camps, including u18 Select Camp
– Multiple State Championships
– Multiple MVP’s
– Multiple leadership roles
Ella’s top memory is winning the National Championship. Where she led all scorers in the tournament, she scored the tying goal in championship game and scored the winning goal in the semi-final game.
When asked about her Mission experience Ella said, “I’ve been proud to wear Mission green. Players across the world know who Mission is and I’ve been able to help the organization win multiple state, district and national championships. I’ve made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. I am very proud of how I have grown and developed as a leader on each team I have been on. I care about our team performance and how we come together as a team working towards a common goal.”
Ella was humbled to receive many college offers. She ultimately chose Duluth because she believed the WCHA was the best fit for her style of play. She loved the small campus and the Bulldog coaching staff. She said “Duluth is a hockey town that cares about the women’s team. I love the big arena and that lots of fans come to cheer on the team”
Ella future goals include the Olympics, the PWHL, and someday coaching at the NHL level.
