Magsino Commits to Nazareth
The Chicago Mission congratulates senior defenseman Vanessa Magsino on her commitment to Nazareth University.
Vanessa starting playing hockey at age 6 and is currently in her 8th season with the Mission. Magsino is an offensive minded D, with excellent hands. She has excelled on and off the ice winning a national championship in 2021 and six state championships. She was also selected for the USA Nationals Camp in 2022 and 2023, and named All-State in high school hockey all four years. Academically, she’s been on the honor roll for three years.
When asked about her youth hockey experience, Vanessa said, “My favorite hockey memory is winning Nationals in overtime during my 14U year. The Mission has created an amazing, supportive family and lifelong friendships, and helped shape me into the best version of myself.
I chose Nazareth University because of its strong health and science programs. I plan to major in Biology at Nazareth University and hope to become either a physician assistant or a physical therapist.” Her commitment to Nazareth is even more impressive considering she suffered a major knee injury, costing her over a year of development.
Vanessa would like to thank her family, friends, and coaches, who helped her in her journey.
