Chicago Mission congratulates senior forward Iris Cheng on her commitment to Princeton University.
Iris began playing hockey at 7 with the Mission ADM. She is currently in her 9th season on the girls side of the program, excelling on and off the ice. She is a u19 Alternate Captain, National Champion, Academic Presidents Award winner, and a Best Buddies Board member. She said “I feel so honored to have been a part of the Mission where this club has given me a second family. I have met some of my best friends here and created long lasting memories and friendships I will forever cherish. My coaches have continuously motivated and supported me, pushing and teaching me life lessons I will carry on. I am eternally grateful for being a part of the Mission family who has helped me grow not only as a player, but also as a person. I am enjoying my final year with this club and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
When asked about Princeton, Iris stated, “I chose Princeton University because it gives me a chance to play hockey at a division 1 level while also getting an incredible education. The second I stepped onto campus and met the team, I loved the environment and culture. It was definitely a place I wanted to be a part of. Princeton is a place where I will definitely be challenged so I can excel in every aspect of my life. I am super excited for the journey to come!”
