Carla McSweeney Commitst to Harvard University

Mission congratulates senior forward Carla McSweeney on her commitment to Harvard University.

Carla began playing hockey at age 7. Her high hockey IQ and leadership skills are two of the many assets Carla brings to her Mission u19 team. Carla excels academically and was elected to the prestigious Erasmus Society by faculty at her high school. On the ice, Carla has many accolades, including playing for Team USA u18’s. When asked about her Mission experience , Carla said “It has been an honor to wear green and play for the Chicago Mission. While playing at the Mission, I have had the privilege to be pushed everyday to be my best self as not only a hockey player, but as a teammate and leader. In the short time I have spent at Mission I have made countless memories and lifelong friends, so thank you to my teammates and coaches for the most incredible 2 years.”
When asked about Harvard, Carla said, ” Harvard gave me the opportunity to be challenged both on the ice and in the classroom allowing me to continue to play high level hockey while ensuring I receive a great education.” Carla’s future plans include working in the pediatric health care field”
