It’s late in the morning on Team USA’s first off-day of the 2022 world juniors and Landon Slaggert is winding down in his room at the Cambridge Red Deer Hotel.

With some time to kill between his 10 a.m. breakfast and noon lunch before he heads off to practice, he’s got his phone to his ear.

He’s reflecting, pausing for a moment to reminisce about his journey from two-hour drives from South Bend, Ind., to Chicago for hockey growing up, to this moment on the world stage with an opportunity to win his second gold medal in as many years.   MORE…
